In the 30-06, I use a 180 gr. Nosler partition and in the 300s I use the 200 gr. Nosler partition for everything. I am not particularly fond of the 150 gr. bullets in anything but a 30-30. Not saying they are bad or the wrong bullet, just that after using both I have opted for the middle of the line bullet weight in most calibers. |

The 150 grain Power Point also holds together pretty good compared to all the others. But then again, just about any .30 caliber bullet will work on most animals IF you hit them with it. |

Shot two Sitka Blacktails last year with the 150 Power-point out of a .308Win. Worked just fine. One broadside was a complete passthrough. One angling away was a near pass-through after going through 18" of deer. I bought 500 of them a few years ago from Midway when they had them on sale. Ditto for the 150 Remington PSPCL. |

On elk I prefer a 180 gr. Nosler in the 06 and .308, but I have had good luck with the 165 gr. Noslers and 165 gr. Hornady Interlocks in the .308 on elk in the open sage country... |

I've never went hunting anything bigger so I can't say how they would hold up on something like an elk. The Sierra Gameking always gave me an exit hole no matter the angle on deer from 75 lbs. to 200 lbs. and on hogs in the 250 lb range. I occasionally find the bullet when I've used other cup and core bullets, especially on hogs. The only reason I quit using the Gamekings was because I found the cheaper Federal blue box bullets killed game just as dead for much cheaper. |

And if I were to be using factory ammo on big game I'd use the Blue Box for pretty much all comers including elk. IMO for factory ammo it's pretty much all we need.
