How to setup My Account?
It is simple as eating your food. You just need to sign in using your existing username and password and then just follow the prompts.
- Verify your existing email id and password.
- Enter and confirm the new password.
- You can choose either a security question or a 4-digit PIN.
- You should check to Accept the Terms and Conditions.
- You should check your email validation link.
- You must sign into My Account for the first time.
Once the account set up is done, you will no longer be able to access the prior online account. My Account will be your one-stop shop from now onwards.
I have received the validation email with a validation link, but the link doesn’t work now. Why?
The validation link will work until 21 days only. If you are accessing it after 21 days of receiving it on the email, you have to start the account setup process again to receive the validation link again.
Why do I need a 4-digit PIN?
For the security concerns, Duke Energy offers two ways to verify your identity in case you forgot your credentials. One of the methods is to choose a 4-digit PIN (Personal Identification Number). This shouldn’t be confused with the PIN on your bill.

After you register with My Account, you have to validate your email address once the email is sent to your inbox for validation. This should be the email which you have provided at the time of registration. Follow the prompts and sign in with your credentials.
If you have not validated your email address by clicking on the link, a reminder will be sent after 7 days and then after 14 days and then your account will be deleted automatically. You have re-register again following the same process again.
How do I add all additional accounts to my online profile?
It is easy than your imagination.
- Sign in using your existing credentials.
- Navigate to upper right corner.
- Go to the ‘Manage My Account’ and the select ‘Add Account’.
- Provide your account number that you want to manage, and other information asked (Last 4 digits of your Social Security PIN, Date of Birth or Federal Tax ID number).
