Sir Keir Starmer's Labour election broadcast with Gary Neville was today teased by social media users who compared their walk through the Lake District to Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon's The Trip.
In the four-minute video broadcast on TV last night, Sir Keir and the former Manchester United star went for a stroll through the beauty spot discussing the Labour leader's plans for power.
They visited Langdale Pikes, which is where Sir Keir used to spend summer holidays with his parents.
But social media users were quick to lampoon the clip, comparing it to Coogan and Brydon's hit TV show The Trip - where the pair travel around the Lake District reviewing meals, swapping impressions and talking about life - and branding it a 'parody'.

During the broadcast, Neville, a fierce critic of the Tories and card-carrying Labour member, asks Sir Keir if he already had a team ready if he wins the General Election on July 4.
Sir Keir responds: 'Yes. I said "I don't want you having a conversation on day one, I need you to deliver for me, so you need to be ready to deliver from the get go". So that's the footing I've had them on.'
Sir Keir turned emotional as he reflected on what his late mother and toolmaker father would think if they knew he was leading Labour through a national election campaign.
'They'd be having a real moment, and so am I actually,' he said. 'If she was back here now… and I was in a race to be a candidate for the prime minister of the country, they'd be really proud.
'It'd be a real incredible moment. It really would.'
The clip saw the TV pundit and former Manchester United footballer join the Labour leader in what was supposedly his first-ever visit to the Lake District.
Filmed in the national park's Langdale Pikes area - where Sir Keir used to spend summer holidays with his parents - the clip begins with Neville asking the Labour leader 'how did you find this place?'
The video was quickly mocked by viewers as 'cringe' and a 'parody'.

Another viewer, mocking their laid back attire, wrote: 'Gary Neville and Starmer in sports casual. As Alan Partridge as I've seen in a very long time!'
Others were left confused about Neville's fascination for how Starmer had 'found' such a well-known beauty spot.

One viewer even dubbed the election broadcast a 'parody'.

Another X user said: 'Deary me that Starmer/Gary Neville thing is vomit inducing', while Luisa wrote: 'Just when you think it couldn't get any worse, promotional vid of Starmer and Gary Neville having a walk'.

Posting ahead of the broadcast yesterday, Sir Keir wrote on X: 'Seeing those same sites and cottages we so often visited on our family holidays cemented why I am campaigning for change.
'For the millions of people who desperately need a Labour government to rebuild Britain: I will hit the ground running on day one.'
An unimpressed viewer wrote: 'Starmer has an image problem of being very boring. Pairing up with Gary Neville hasn't helped', followed by a sleeping emoji.
Meanwhile, another wrote: 'Just on, Labour Election broadcast. Gary Neville and Starmer.
'I thought I was going to puke up. It was cringe.'
Speaking of the experience filming with Sir Keir, Neville said: 'It was a privilege to spend the morning with Keir filming this in the beautiful Lake District, he is a future prime minister who the country can believe in and trust.
'It's in your hands. You have the power to make change happen. Vote Labour.'
