"So..." That night, Lexa muttered into the air as they lay down together, Clarke scrolling through her phone. "Can you give me a sneak peek of the new chapter?"
Clarke blinked, then a love-filled laugh echoed throughout the room. "No, Lexa. You'll have to wait like all the other readers."
A pout crossed the green-eyed girl's face. "But I'm basically your future wife. Don't I get some access to my favorite fanfiction of all time?"
Clarke turned around, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend and bringing her in for cuddles and kisses. "You're such a baby. My baby." Clarke grinned, placing her lips against Lexa's. "Come on, bedtime."
The blonde plugged the charger into her phone and placed it on the nightstand. She once again pulled Lexa into her arms, letting Lexa rest her head on her chest as they cuddled up to sleep for the night
The next morning, Clarke sat at the kitchen table, eating the breakfast she had made for herself and her girlfriend. She scrolled through her emails, notifications majority of comments on her major hit fanfiction on AO3.
"Would you like to tell me why you were up until 3 AM having full conversations with people in my comment section?" Clarke asked, smiling at her girlfriend as she popped a few blueberries into her mouth.
"Just telling all of them how much of a bad girlfriend you are for not letting me read even a single line of the next chapter you're working on." Lexa replied quickly, reaching over and grabbing Clarke's assortment bowl of fruits. "And because of that, I am allowed to take your bowl of fruits."
Clarke smiled at her, humming in acknowledgement.
"If you want to know, they all agree with me."
Clarke giggled before sitting up and walking over, kissing the top of Lexa's head. "You're so cuteee."
Lexa grumbled.
A couple of days later, Clarke returned home to find Lexa on her laptop, hastily looking through her Google Drive and Word documents. Lexa was rapidly clicking the mouse button, her face inches from the monitor, clearly engrossed in something.
Clarke chuckled as she leaned against the doorframe. "So, you've gotten to the point where you're looking through my drives now?"
Lexa grumbled, throwing her hands up in the air and pushing the rolling chair away from the desk. "The only thing remotely close I found about the story is a draft of Chapter 2!"
"You're so desperate, baby," Clarke whispered as she walked over and straddled Lexa in the chair.
Lexa blushed a deep shade of red, ignoring the comment. Clarke leaned in for a kiss. When they broke apart, Lexa asked, "So where do you keep your drafts?"
Clarke giggled. "Wouldn't you like to know, baby?" The blonde placed a light kiss against Lexa's neck, bringing her lips up to her ear and whispered. "Maybe if you're a good girl."
Two hours later, in bed, Clarke pressed light kisses against the panting girl beneath her. "You're so beautiful, baby," she whispered, rolling off Lexa and pulling her into her arms. "Such a good girl." Lexa blushed, burying her face in Clarke's neck.
Clarke smiled, pulling the blanket over them as they cuddled and drifted off to sleep for the night.
A week passed. Clarke woke up early that morning before Lexa, and with a smile on her face, she pressed the publish button for the chapter everyone had been dying to read. She got ready for work and left, feeling excited to see the reactions of her fans.
Later that night, Clarke returned home slightly worried because she hadn't received a message from Lexa all day. She chalked it up to Lexa being busy with work, as it has happened many times before.
To her surprise, as she walked into the living room, Clarke found that the couch, TV, table, carpet, and almost everything else was gone. All that remained was a bland table with two chairs on opposite sides. Lexa was already seated there, her expression unreadable.
"Take a seat, Clarke," Lexa stated in a monotone, gesturing to the seat in front of her.
Amusem*nt found a permanent place on Clarke's face as she sat down. "Lexa, why have you turned our living room into an interrogation room?"
To Clarke's suprise she watched as, Lexa slammed a manila folder on the table with multiple papers inside. "Before we get started, this is being recorded."
Clarke nodded, and Lexa took that as a sign to proceed. She pulled out the first paper from the folder. "Let's get started with Exhibit A," she said, pushing the paper closer to Clarke.
As Clarke looked over the picture on the paper, she realized it was a screenshot of her initial notes for the chapter she had posted that morning, where she had written, 'Hope everyone enjoys this chapter!'.
"I don't know how you could write such a thing to your readers knowing you were going to send outsucha chapter."
Clarke used her entire strength to hold in her laugh, and coughed slightly. "In my personal opinion I think I did a good job at writing the chapter."
Lexa tsked, pushing the paper to the side. "A lot of people disagree. Anyways, let us go to Exhibit B." Lexa procceeded to pull out the next screenshot.
It was a screenshot of the three paragraphs that wrote out the death of Heda, one of her main characters in her story. Lexa place a finger down on the paper. "This is blasphemy. You killed her off. Why?!"
Clarke tried her best to hide her smile but to no avail. "For plot and character development."
"No. You just hate all your fans, and me personally." She gestured over to the screenshot. "This is leaving you at the alter material."
Clarke's eyes widened in shock. "Excuse me?"
"This entire chapter was a big 'f*ck you' to my face."
"Lexa- Baby-" Clarke stuttered out.
"Exhibit C." Lexa cut her off, pulling out the last screenshot in the folder. In this screenshot certain words were circled in red. "She dies to a stray bullet? Like is this The CW writing?"
Clarke's jaw dropped and then pursed her lips into a frown.
"That's not what I meant. I love your writing."
Clarke huffed. "Clearly, you're the one that hates me." Pouting, she got up and walked into their shared bedroom, throwing herself onto the bed. She was partly upset by Lexa's silliness but mostly exhausted from work.
A moment later, she felt Lexa crawl into bed next to her, wrapping her arms around her so they were facing each other. "Hi," Lexa said with a small smile.
Clarke smiled back. "You're so silly, Lexa."
"I love youuu, but can you pretty please bring Heda back?" Lexa whined into Clarke's neck.
Clarke grinned and gave Lexa a quick kiss. "You'll just have to wait and see."
"You're killing meee," Lexa groaned. "Fine, maybe I'll just write a fix-it fanfic for your fanfic."
Clarke laughed, shaking her head. "I'd love to see that."
They went to sleep that night, small giggles, loud laughs, and quiet kisses.
