How long does it take to get approved for Copart? ›

During the three-step registration process, you'll choose your membership and upload your photo ID and any business licenses you have. Your documents will be processed in 1-2 business days, and once approved, you'll be able to bid and buy!

To bid more, you'll need to deposit 10% of the total amount you want to bid. So, if you wanted to bid $20,000, you'd need to make a deposit of $2,000. If you are a Premier Member, you only need to make a one-time deposit of $400 to bid up to $100,000 per day.

Selling a car with a lien is illegal without the consent of the party that placed the lien.

You can drive a car directly off the lot if you have insurance on it and have access to dealer tags. Otherwise, we recommend you either have Copart ship it to your business address or hire a third-party transporter to bring it to you.

You must first have a valid government-issued ID on file with Copart to be able to bid. Click here then click on the "Upload License" button in the top right corner to upload your government-issued ID if you have not already done so. Each state has its own specific licensing requirements.

Copart accepts several payment options, including money orders, cashier's checks, wire transfers and credit and debit card payments. Remember that payment should include any applicable fees, including storage fees or sales tax. Once you've paid in full, you can schedule a pickup through the Copart Transportation App.

If the lot is not paid in full within 8 calendar days (including the day of sale), the vehicle will be relisted. The Relist Fee will be 10% of the final sale price with a minimum of $600.

Can I visit a Copart location to preview vehicles? Yes, and in fact, we encourage you to visit. Although Copart provides 10 high-quality images and accurate descriptions for each vehicle, any information provided is for convenience only.

The payment deadline is 3 business days, including day of sale (funds must be received on Copart account within the 3-day period). If not paid within the 3 days, a $50 late fee is assessed on each vehicle. The most reliable payment method for international buyers is wire transfer.

What happens after you win a car on Copart? ›

You have won a vehicle! Please plan payment and shipping right away to avoid late payment and storage fees. You will have 3 business days to pay for the lot, including the day of sale.

Copart offers refunds for vehicle purchases, storage fees & services under certain circ*mstances, like those detailed in the Copart Member Protection Pledge and the Copart Select Pledge.

If Copart notifies the Member more than 45 days after bid acceptance that the vehicle and title are available for delivery, the Member may at its option either (i) cancel the sale, or (ii) pay for and take delivery of the vehicle.

If you win a lot and don't finalize the purchase (meaning, the lot is not paid in full within 8 calendar days including the day of sale) the Lot will Relist. The Relist fee will be 10% of the final sale price OR $600 – whichever is higher.

Once your documents have been verified by our Member License Team, you will receive an email letting you know that your account has been activated for bidding. Please note that it may take up to three business days for your documents to be processed and verified before you can bid.

For the auctions marked with the sale status On Approval, the seller has until 8:00 pm PST one business day after the end of the auction to: accept your bid, counter with a higher bid, or reject your bid.

We need to receive your documents BEFORE you can start bidding and buying vehicles. Once we have your documents, we should have them processed in 1 business day.

On Approval - Seller has reserved the right to approve the final high bid achieved during the virtual auction. Seller has until 8:00 p.m. PST one business day after the sale to approve the bid. The high bidder is obligated to purchase the vehicle if released by the Seller within the approval period.
