ALMANAC OBITUARIES Adelaida Acosta de Ortiz, 75, of 3119 E. Eighth St. died Tuesday at her son Francisco's home of complications of diabetes. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Guadalupe Chapel, and burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.

Mrs. Ortiz was born in Salamanca, Mexico, and moved to Des Moines in 1975. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Trinidad; five sons, Ramon of Milan, Jesus of Sandstone, and Francisco, Sergio and Trini, all of Des Moines; a brother, Carmel Acosta Reyes of Mexico City; four sisters, Felipa Mandujano and Guadalupe Robles, both of Mexico City, Antonia Juarez of Salamanca, Mexico, and Maria Ramirez of Irapuato, Mexico; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Rasmussen was born in Traer and lived in Adel 18 years. Prior to that he lived in Sioux Falls, S.D., and West Des Moines. He was a warehouse foreman for Aristech Chemical Corp. in Ankeny.

Among survivors are his wife, Liz; a son, Curt of Adel; his parents, Noble and Ruth Rasmussen of West Des Moines; and a sister, Elaine Watson of Cedar Rapids. Joint services for Mr. Kuhns and his wife, Waunita, 70, who died of a heart ailment Thursday at Des Moines General Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will be at Stuart Cemetery in Adelphi. Mrs.

Kuhns' service was postponed from Monday. Mr. Kuhns was born in Carlisle and lived in the Adelphi area and Des Moines before moving to St. Charles 16 years ago. He retired after serving as St.

Charles town marshal and an employee of the waterworks. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and had been a member of the Masonic Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are a son, Robert of St. Charles; three brothers, Malvin Sr. of Redfield and Ora and Alvin, both of Des Moines; two sisters, Maxine Rusho of North Liberty and Helene Lingafelter of Moline, and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Dallas F. Mattingly, 79, of Cres- ton died of a heart ailment Saturday at Greater Community Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist Church and Odd Fellows Lodge. Mr. McCartan was born in Pocahontas and moved to Des Moines in 1946. He retired as district counsel for the Veterans Administration and was a Navy Reserve veteran of World War II. He also had been past president of the Veterans Administration Credit Union and served on the care review committee at Bishop Drumm Care Center. Surviving are his wife, Genevieve; a son, Bernard of Milwaukee; two daughters, Charlotte Eubanks of Grand Junction, and Dorothy Friedrich of Kansas City, and three grandchildren.
